About the position

Position Profile: Works as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver a community-based child and adolescent mental health service. Provides evidence-based treatment interventions to young people aged 14-25 years old with mental health problems and their families.

This is a Permanent Full Time or  Fixed Term Term Full Time, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Suitability Criteria:
Suitability recognises that a range of factors contribute to merit, including skills, knowledge, abilities, behaviours, ethical alignment and relevant operational requirements. The suitability requirements below are derived from the Job Description Form and define what will be assessed to determine your suitability for the role:

  1. Registration and Licencing-  Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Nursing and eligibility for registration with the relevant Board, or tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, drivers licence and WA Working with Children Check.
  2. Clinical Mental Health Expertise – Demonstrated significant experience in assessment, case management and therapeutic intervention with youth and their families presenting with mental health issues, with sound knowledge of emotional, behavioural and psychiatric disorders.
  3. Communication, Collaboration and Community Engagement – Proven ability to build positive effective relationships with young people, families, community stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams supported by strong communication, liaison and interpersonal skills.
  4. Decision making and Legislative Knowledge – Demonstrated negotiation, problem solving, analytical and conflciut resolution skills, together with knowledge of the WA Mental Health Act 2014 and other legislation governing mental health practice.
