Opportunity
Rural and Remote Connect proudly stands as the sole Queensland Health nursing/midwifery agency filling critical staffing gaps across Queensland and the Torres Strait’s remote locations.
We are on the lookout for experienced midwives with competency in neonatal resuscitation, Obstetric Emergency Training and Foetal Surveillance Education and Training to support those in remote facilities requiring a dedicated midwife.
You need to have Australian working rights to join our highly experienced and diverse team.
Placements can range from 2 weeks up to 3 months at a time, in locations that many can only dream of visiting.

What’s on offer:
- Various contracts from 2 weeks up to 3 months in rural and remote locations throughout Queensland
- Generous QH Casual rates plus a Rural and Remote Connect incentive:
- $61.04 to $78.30 p.h. (Midwifery Grade 5)
- $79.64 to $85.27 p.h. (Midwifery Grade 6 Band 1)
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Travel and accommodation will be provided
Requirements:
- Proof of qualification, registration with AHPRA and a current practising certificate are mandatory requirements.
- Current working rights within Australia.
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-graduate experience.
- Competency in neonatal resuscitation, Obstetric Emergency Training and Foetal Surveillance Education and Training.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Tuberculosis and Japanese Encephalitis.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted; including NDIS worker screening.
