The Role
As the Population Health Manager, you will provide leadership and operational oversight to a multidisciplinary outreach team within Primary Health Care (PHC) across East Arnhem. Reporting to the Primary Health Care Director, you will be accountable for service delivery, workforce management, financial performance, and the coordination of integrated outreach programs.
You will play a key role in building strong partnerships with stakeholders, ensuring services are culturally appropriate and responsive to community needs. The position is responsible for monitoring performance against strategic plans, strengthening governance and reporting systems, and supporting continuous quality improvement and accreditation processes in line with national standards.
This role requires travel to remote communities by light aircraft or 4WD. Applicants must hold, or be able to obtain, a Northern Territory driver’s licence.
About you
You are an experienced and adaptable leader with a strong background in primary health care and a commitment to improving health outcomes in complex environments. To be successful, you will have:
- Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same.
- Qualifications in health service management, leadership, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience managing programs and teams within a complex Primary Health Care environment
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse cultural settings
- Proven experience in financial, human resource, and operational management
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement, accreditation processes, and national safety and quality standards
