SustainHealth Recruitment is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) – Scrub Scout (Specialised in Ophthalmology) for a permanent full-time opportunity within a leading specialist day surgery in Sydney’s North Shore.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled perioperative nurse to step into a specialist role within a state-of-the-art surgical facility, working alongside highly experienced surgeons and a collaborative theatre team.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality ophthalmic care, supporting complex procedures, and contributing to a culture of clinical excellence and continuous improvement.

The Role:
- Deliver specialist scrub/scout nursing care in ophthalmology procedures
- Support and mentor junior staff, acting as a clinical preceptor
- Ensure adherence to clinical standards, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in quality improvement and accreditation processes
- Maintain high standards of patient safety and clinical documentation
About You:
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Minimum 5 years post-registration nursing experience (highly desirable)
- Proven experience in Ophthalmology Scrub/Scout nursing
- Strong knowledge of perioperative and anaesthetic practices
- Demonstrated leadership ability and mentoring capability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to quality improvement and professional development
