About the position

SustainHealth Recruitment is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) – Scrub Scout (Specialised in Ophthalmology) for a permanent full-time opportunity within a leading specialist day surgery in Sydney’s North Shore.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled perioperative nurse to step into a specialist role within a state-of-the-art surgical facility, working alongside highly experienced surgeons and a collaborative theatre team.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality ophthalmic care, supporting complex procedures, and contributing to a culture of clinical excellence and continuous improvement.

The Role:

  • Deliver specialist scrub/scout nursing care in ophthalmology procedures
  • Support and mentor junior staff, acting as a clinical preceptor
  • Ensure adherence to clinical standards, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in quality improvement and accreditation processes
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety and clinical documentation


About You:

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 5 years post-registration nursing experience (highly desirable)
  • Proven experience in Ophthalmology Scrub/Scout nursing
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative and anaesthetic practices
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and mentoring capability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to quality improvement and professional development
  • Full working rights in Australia
