Marthakal Homelands Health Service

Marthakal Homelands Health Service is based on Elcho Island in Galiwinku. The Traditional Owners, the Yolngu people, lobbied the government for a health service dedicated to their Homelands and Marthakal Homelands Health Service was established in 2001. MHHS is a mobile service that covers 15,000 square kilometres in remote East Arnhem Land, with a population of about 400 people.
