About the role
You will deliver comprehensive primary and emergency nursing care in culturally rich community settings, working autonomously with support from the wider Ngaanyatjarra Health clinical team.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide primary health care, acute and emergency nursing, and chronic disease management.
  • Undertake remote community nursing duties including clinics, home visits and health promotion.
  • Participate in on-call and rostered duties as required by the placement.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with local protocols and cultural safety requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with local health services, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services and visiting specialists.

Essential Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • At least 12 months’ experience in remote nursing, or demonstrated capability to work effectively in remote health settings.
  • Sound understanding of Aboriginal health issues and proven experience applying Primary Health Care principles in complex remote practice environments.
  • Experience participating in on-call rosters within nurse-led clinics (supporting 2–8 nursing posts).
  • Hold a valid manual driver’s licence.
