Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Maternity Unit, including the Antenatal Clinic, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality service delivery.
- Lead, support and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, professional growth and culturally responsive care.
- Deliver advanced clinical midwifery care and leadership within the Maternity Unit while maintaining excellence in clinical practice and patient outcomes.
- Manage and optimise human, financial and physical resources, including workforce planning, rostering, recruitment and performance management.
- Drive continuous improvement through evidence-based practice, quality initiatives, policy development and service innovation to enhance maternity and neonatal care outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with substantial experience and advanced knowledge in the management of Maternal and Newborn Services, including the effective oversight of clinical, financial and human resources.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to lead and support multidisciplinary teams, drive service excellence, and foster a culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement.
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, collaborate, consult and influence stakeholders across a range of clinical and organisational settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of contemporary quality, risk and customer service principles, together with a commitment to Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Work Health and Safety requirements in service delivery and employment practices.

Area Profile
The Goldfields region of the WA Country Health Service covers the Goldfields-Esperance Region of Western Australia. The region is located in the south eastern corner of Western Australia and covers 770,488 sq km (including offshore islands). The WA Country Health Service Goldfields consists of two main health campuses located in Kalgoorlie & Esperance, and three smaller hospitals located in Laverton, Leonora, and Norseman. The Goldfields is a culturally rich region with a number of Aboriginal communities spread out across the region, 16 distinct Aboriginal language groups and an Aboriginal population that represents 12.3 per cent of our total population, with 1 in 10 people, on average, identifying as Aboriginal – this in comparison to the state average of 3.6 per cent.
