About the position

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Perioperative Services Manager to join a leading private hospital located in Darwin, Northern Territory. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across the perioperative service, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while maintaining clinical excellence and operational efficiency.

Reporting to the executive leadership team, you will lead a dedicated team of perioperative professionals and work closely with multidisciplinary stakeholders to optimise workforce management, theatre operations, resource allocation, and patient outcomes. You will play a key role in driving quality improvement initiatives, managing budgets and KPIs, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, legislative requirements, ACORN guidelines, and sterilisation standards.

The hospital is a 122-bed acute care facility providing a broad range of surgical and medical services, including general surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, ophthalmology, plastics, urology, gastroenterology, ENT, cardiac services, and specialist mental health programs. The facility services patients across the Northern Territory, Western Australia, and remote communities.

About You

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 5 years’ nursing experience within the perioperative setting
  • High-level clinical skills across perioperative services
  • Proven leadership and management experience within a perioperative environment
  • Strong understanding of legislative requirements, ACORN guidelines, and sterilisation standards
  • Experience with workforce coordination, staff allocation, and performance management
  • Knowledge of accreditation processes, quality improvement, and risk management principles
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, KPIs, and operational performance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Postgraduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing, or currently working towards one, highly regarded
