📍 “Bamaga… which way?”

Head north. Keep going… and then go a little further.

Right at the tip of Australia, you’ll find Bamaga – a place where nursing is about more than tasks and timeframes. It’s about people, connection, and care.

Bamaga is a remote town at the northern tip of Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland, close to the Torres Strait. It serves as the main service centre for surrounding Indigenous communities. Life in Bamaga is relaxed and strongly influenced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, with daily activities shaped by the tropical climate and natural surroundings. The area features bushland, beaches, and a strong connection to fishing and outdoor living.

Facilities include a hospital, schools, airport, shops, and government services, providing essential support despite the town’s isolation.
