Apply your extensive experience of remote nursing to provide education, training, clinical and systems advice to clinician in urban and remote settings.
The Department of Health manages the Northern Territory public health system, operating as one system across 5 regions, providing the full spectrum of essential, quality health services, from health promotion to prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care across the life course.
As a Nurse Education Coordinator, you provide education, training, clinical and systems advice and support to Primary Health Care clinicians in remote and/or urban locations in Central Australia.
This involves collaborating in the development and implementation of educational programs to support professional development needs of healthcare workers and address inconsistencies between practice and policy.
Located in Alice Springs, you will utilise your extensive knowledge and experience relevant to remote nursing to support the delivery of excellence in nursing and midwifery care and mentor less experienced staff to assist in the further development of their skills and experience.
To be successful, you will be an accomplished Nurse/Midwife with a Graduate Diploma, or equivalent, and beyond entry to practice certificate, registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and advanced clinical knowledge, skills and experience in a relevant area of nursing/midwifery supported by well-developed clinical decision making.
Demonstrated proficiency in the understanding, application, analysis and interpretation of a professional body of knowledge and experience contributing to the development and implementation of local/regional policies. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflict and promote cooperation is essential. You will also require a current manual driver’s licence and the willingness to travel to remote areas by 4WD or light aircraft for negotiated periods.
