Apply your Nursing/Midwifery experience and knowledge of education programs to support the professional development of Child and Family Health Nurses.

 

The Department of Health manages the Northern Territory public health system, operating as one system across 5 regions, providing the full spectrum of essential, quality health services, from health promotion to prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care across the life course.

 

As the Nurse Education Coordinator, you provide sound professional advice critical in dealing with significant issues related to assessment, planning, review, evaluation, and coordination of educational programs. This involves collaborating in the development and implementation of education programs and delivering excellence in nursing/midwifery care by modelling advanced knowledge, skills and behaviours.

 

To be successful, you will be an accomplished Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, have completed a Graduate Diploma or beyond entry to practice certificate and have demonstrated experience and experience of adult learning principles and education theory.

 

In addition, you require, effective communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage conflict and promote cooperation and well-developed appreciation of the social and cultural issues and sensitivities relating to providing health care in rural communities is essential. As the role services remote communities, you will be required to travel by 4WD or light aircraft on a regular basis and stay in community for a number of days.

About 450kms down the road is Uluru, a large sandstone rock formation that is a spectacular sight any time of the year.
