Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation (MHAC) is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation delivering high-quality clinical services, acute and long-term care, and primary prevention programs for Yolnu people across East Arnhem Land. We are seeking passionate clinicians to join our dedicated team and provide culturally safe, person-centred care after hours.
The Role
As a Telehealth Clinician, you’ll be the first point of contact for the Miwatj community during overnight hours. Working remotely, you’ll provide timely, evidence-based health advice via telephone triage, ensuring continuity of care and supporting our on-the-ground team in East Arnhem Land.
- We have a number of part time or casual positions available
- Competitive Salary: AHP5 $111,555 – $121,354 | N4 $128,151 – $137,674
- Shifts available:12 hours (20:00hrs – 08:00hrs), seven nights a week on a rotating roster
- Location:Work from home
- Support:Backed by a committed clinical team in East Arnhem Land
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver culturally respectful, evidence-based health advice via telephone triage
- Assess urgency, prioritise care, and escalate when required
- Collaborate with Remote Area Nurses and Aboriginal Health Practitioners
- Adhere to CARPA Standard Treatment protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
- Contribute to recall audits, data quality improvement, and administrative tasks
- Engage in ongoing training in telehealth, cultural safety, and remote health
About You
We’re looking for clinicians who are passionate about Aboriginal community control and self-determination, with strong cultural competence and communication skills.
Essential skills and experience:
- Current AHPRA registration (RN or Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner)
- 3–5 years post-graduate experience in acute care, primary health, or telephone triage
- Proven ability to work in rural, remote, or cross-cultural health environments
- Strong documentation, triage, and follow-up skills
- Commitment to work health and safety standards
Mandatory Requirements
As part of your application, you will be required to complete a current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) and National Police Clearance (please note: criminal history will not automatically exclude applicants)
