Provide safe, evidence-based nursing/midwifery care within a multidisciplinary ward environment supporting medical, surgical and paediatric patients. The role is responsible for care coordination across shifts, supporting daily ward operations, mentoring staff and students, and contributing to education, quality improvement and portfolio activities. This position works collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager and healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes and service delivery across a 24/7 roster.
About you
You are an experienced Registered Nurse/Midwife with strong clinical knowledge and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. You demonstrate leadership qualities, communicate effectively, and support a positive workplace culture through mentorship and role modelling. You will have experience in delivering patient-centred care, contributing to quality improvement activities, and understanding the social and cultural factors that influence healthcare delivery.
To be successful, you will have:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, or eligibility for same
- A Graduate Certificate beyond entry-to-practice in a relevant specialty area
- Demonstrated clinical experience within a relevant nursing/midwifery setting
- Ability to provide leadership, mentorship and support to staff and students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience contributing to education, quality improvement or service development activities
- Understanding of the social and cultural factors influencing healthcare delivery
- Flexibility and willingness to work across a 24/7 roster
- Ongoing appointment is subject to attainment of Graduate Diploma, or equivalent, beyond entry-to-practice in Safety and Quality or Primary Health Care, or related area.
